Dawah, education and humanitarian service — the steps we take for social development
Markazus Sunnah Foundation believes that faith is awakened in hearts and a peaceful society is built only through pure dawah. The foundation of our dawah work is the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah.
Our first aim is to establish the oneness of Allah and to keep people away from shirk, innovation and extremes. To that end we run planned dawah programmes that call people towards correct creed and proper worship.
We treat promoting good and preventing wrong in society as an essential part of dawah. Regular talks, halaqahs and programmes are organised at various levels for this purpose.
Markazus Sunnah aims to establish model mosques in the pattern of the Prophet’s ﷺ mosque — not merely places of prayer, but centres of education, dawah, service and social welfare.
From villages to cities, weekly, monthly and annual religious talks, open discussions and special seminars are held in many areas. Mosques, madrasas, cultural auditoriums and other venues are used for this.
Publishing authoritative books, booklets, research papers and translations to convey authentic Islamic knowledge, creed and outlook in a simple way is one of our key initiatives.
Special training workshops are arranged for imams, khatibs and du‘at so that they can deliver dawah to people more effectively.
Our dawah is not limited to in-person work; we produce topic-based talks, videos and documentaries and share them on social media, reaching a far wider audience.
Original books, translations and informative publications are produced to present the beauty of Islam to non-Muslims and convey its true picture.
Awareness programmes and campaigns are run to remove religious and social superstitions.
A family counselling unit is run to resolve family problems and restore peace of mind. There are also plans for a hotline / call centre for religious questions and problem-solving.
Islamic youth clubs, cultural centres and positive sports-based programmes are run to strengthen young people and adolescents morally.
For those seeking direct answers to religious questions, an Islamic Q&A department is available where scholars provide guidance directly.
The poor, orphans, widows, the helpless and disaster-affected people receive special priority in our welfare work. Standing beside them, we seek not only immediate relief but lasting solutions.
Effective steps will be taken to improve the living standards of the poor and helpless, so that serving suffering humanity becomes a means of Allah’s pleasure.
There are plans for rapid relief distribution during natural disasters and rehabilitation work afterwards.
Tube wells and water purification plants will be installed in areas lacking safe drinking water.
Planting and caring for high-yield trees will protect the environment and create opportunities for sadaqah jariyah.
Programmes will be undertaken to distribute iftar supplies in Ramadan and meat during the Qurbani season.
Scholarships and training for needy students will spread education and create opportunities for self-reliance.
Initiatives will be taken to assume full responsibility for the education, upbringing and character formation of orphaned children.
Long-term social development will be ensured through employment, training and infrastructure improvement.
